Group Donates Smoke Detector to Shreveport Fire Department

The Shreveport Fire Department got a very useful donation Monday, one that could help save someone's life.

Two-hundred smoke detectors were donated at Central Fire Station.

The donation came from the Lowe-McFarland Ladies Auxiliary, and will be handed out through the Shreveport Fire Department's Smoke Detector Giveaway Program.

But the fire department is ready to make any house safer with a smoke detector, at any given time.

If you are in need of a smoke detector for your home, call 673-6740.
