Gas service in the DeSoto Parish town of Logansport will be off until a ruptured gas line can be repaired. About 500 customers are affected by the outage.
Meanwhile the five families forced from their homes after the gas line ruptured are now back home.
However a quarter-mile section of Highway 84 remains closed.
Shortly after 9:00 a.m., a spokesman notified KSLA News 12 about the leak, saying that raw gas was spewing from an underground pipe and sending debris 40- to-50 feet into the air near Highway 84 and Highway 191 in Logansport.
