A man who may have been driving too fast is now in a race for his life. His pickup truck went out of control and rolled over, ejecting him from the vehicle.
The crash happened around 11:45 p .m. on Barron Road near Mansfield Road and involved only one vehicle.
Sheriff's investigators say they're not sure yet exactly what happened, but it's possible that the driver was speeding.
"That's what it appears at this time," said Sgt. James Houston. "But...until we complete the investigation, we won't know for sure."
Houston said it also appears the driver may not have been wearing a seatbelt. He was taken to LSU Hospital for treatment.
The driver, whose name is being withheld, is in his 30s and from the town of Grand Cane, LA.
