LaSalle Parish D.A. Making Controversial Comment?

LaSalle parish district attorney J. Reed Walters is catching some flak over a comment he made while announcing he wouldn t pursue adult charges against Mychal Bell. At his news conference on Thursday, Walter's said last week's march in support of the Jena 6 did not influence his decision on prosecuting bell as an adult. But that's not what has Walter's catching heat--- it was, "I firmly believe and am confident of the fact that had it not been for the direct intervention of the Lord Jesus Christ last Thursday a disaster would have happened and you can quote me on that." He went on to explain himself saying, "what I am saying is the Lord Jesus Christ put his influence on those people and they responded accordingly."  A black pastor in the audience immediately stood up and called the comment shameful.
