Shreveport Business Assoc. Wants Plant Shut Down

The smelly situation with the Lousiana Proteins Plant in north Shreveport is now about to get more intense.

The Agurs Business Association is filing a lawsuit against the owners of the plant to get it shut down.

the Association did ask Mayor Cedric Glover to support the lawsuit, but Mayor Glover refused, saying he plans on tackling the business by another avenue.

"Shutting a business down that is otherwise operating legally right now, as far as the DEQ is concerned, as far as the court system is concerned, is no easy matter."

Glover says both parties are headed in the same direction, and at some point could join forces.
