Driver Strikes Pedestrian

A pedestrian hit by a vehicle nearly three weeks ago has died.
The fatal accident happened back on August 26th.
Twenty-five-year-old Rodregus Maxie was hit by a vehicle in the 4100 block of Hearne Avenue.
According to a witness, Maxie stepped in front of oncoming traffic.
No charges are pending.

From August 26
Shreveport Police report a female driver striking a male pedestrian on Hearne Ave just after 9:00 pm. 
Police say the driver was traveling over the speed limit but remain unsure exactly how fast she was driving.
First reponders rushed the pedestrian to LSU Hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police report the pedestrian being severly hurt from the waist down and also breaking an arm.
Police say there was a passenger in the car.  They had several warrants for his arrest.  The charges are unknown at this time.
Authorities say the driver had been drinking earlier in the evening.  They weren't sure of her blood alcohol level during the time of the accident. She will be tested at the Shreveport Police Department.
