Anil Chhabra, M.D., has been a practicing cardiologist since 1983. He joined Cardiovascular Consultants, LLP, in July 1993 through the merger of his practice, Mid-South Cardiology.
Recognized as an innovator in the field of invasive cardiology, Dr. Anil Chhabra is credited with several "firsts" in cardiology for the local area. Among these achievements are the first stent procedure in the ArkLaTex, the first rotational arthrectomy, the first directional arthrectomy, the first Transluminal Extraction catheterization (TEC), and the first aorto/iliac repair via stent. Dr. Chhabra has a strong interest in peripheral vascular procedures.
Dr. Chhabra completed his fellowship in cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and the American College of Chest Physicians. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and a Fellow of the Scientific Council of the American College of Angiology. Dr. Chhabra holds board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Cardiology.
Active in numerous civic and professional organizations, Dr. Chhabra serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Cardiology at the Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is a member of the Medical Staff of the various facilities within the Willis-Knighton Health System, as well as the Sabine Medical Center in Many, Louisiana, where he conducts a weekly clinic.
