Governor Tim Kaine released the following statement in regard to Monday's deadly shootings at Virginia Tech.
"It is difficult to comprehend senseless violence on this scale," Governor Kaine said. "Our prayers are with the families and friends of these victims, and members of the extended Virginia Tech community.
Kaine went on to say the state is working with university officials, local law enforcement, and the community health system to provide all the resources and support needed in the aftermath of the shootings.
The governor's staff arranged for Kaine to leave Asia, where he was scheduled for a two-week trade mission. Governor Kaine will return to Virginia on Tuesday.
"I urge Virginians to keep these victims and their families in their thoughts and prayers," he said.
