Several Vigils Planned

Thousands of mourners turning to their faith for answers and strength to have an opportunity to pray with others. Virginia Tech is planning a convocation Tuesday afternoon in Blacksburg. People will come together and deal with the tragedy as one. The 2pm gathering will happen at Cassell Coliseum.

And in Richmond, several memorials and services are planned. Here are some of them:

  • The Tech Alumni Assoication meets Tuesday at 6pm. A memorial service will follow at Memorial Chapel on the University of Richmond Campus.
  • The city will hold a prayer vigil at Chimborazo Park - 32nd and East Broad Streets @ 6 p.m.
  • At 7:30, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart will open to let people pray and reflect.
  • Grove Avenue Baptist will open their doors Tues. at noon

  • VCU will have a vigil in the Siegel Center Tuesday at 3 p.m.

  • Cultural Center of India will gather Wednesday @ 7 p.m. at CCI Hall, 6641 Ironbridge Parkway.
