New Orleans Grand Jury Indicts Seven Officers

A grand jury in New Orleans has indicted seven New Orleans police officers in the shooting deaths of two men in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

The circumstances surrounding the shootings are still unclear.

Police initially said the shootings took place after shots were fired at crews with the U.S Army Corps of Engineers, as they were working on the I-10 bridge over the Industrial Canal.

However, according to the coroner's report, one of the two men was shot seven times-- including five times in the back.
