Daily Shortcut - Sliced Potatoes

Many packaged food items are simple and we use them frequently, but they may not be the best choices for us.  Here are some cooking Daily Shortcuts ...

How many times do we rip open a bag of frozen fries? Here's a simple way to make potatoes that are better and healthier than bagged fries, and it won't take any more time in the kitchen.

Take a cleaned, raw potato and slice it -- not too thin, but not too thick either.  You can keep the skins on -- it saves time and all of the minerals are in the skin.  Now arrange the potatoes on a baking sheet sprayed with a non-stick spray.

Here another trick: Once the potatoes are sliced and on the tray, spray the potatoes with the cooking spray and season them with something like garlic salt or any seasoned salt.

Now bake! Put them into a 350-degree oven for about 20 minutes.  You will need to flip them once during baking, so they will be fully cooked.  When they are done, serve with ketchup.

This recipe works really well when you want to get the kids to eat real potatoes!
