Man arrested for firing shots in west Shreveport park

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police have arrested a man for reportedly firing shots in a west Shreveport park.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, at the Airport Park Recreation Center on the 6500 block of Kennedy Drive.

Officers say they were called to the area after concerned citizens reported hearing what sounded like multiple gunshots coming from the vicinity of the park.

Thanks to citizens' description of the vehicle, officers were able to locate a vehicle matching the description near the intersection of Broadway Avenue at Hollywood Avenue.

After making contact with two individuals in the vehicle, officers say they were able to gather enough evidence linking the vehicle and its passengers to the shots fired call.

Upon further investigation, a weapon believed to be used in the crime was seized, along with other firearm related articles.

Police arrested and charged 18-year-old Malik Muscove, of the 4000 block of Andrea Street, with one count of Illegal Use of a Weapon.

Muscove was booked into the Shreveport City Jail. A second man inside the vehicle was not charged.
