Teen accused in Plain Dealing shooting pleads guilty to manslaughter

BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A Springhill teenager pleaded guilty Monday morning to manslaughter in the shooting death of another teen.

According to court records, a judge sentenced 19-year-old Phillip Woods to 7 years in prison with credit for time served.

Woods pleaded guilty to killing a 16-year-old boy as a result of an ongoing dispute in the 400 block of Gilmer Street in June of 2017.

Woods was originally charged with one count of second-degree murder.
