A man booked in the Caddo Parish Correctional Center died this week.
Kevin Randall Weldon, 57, was booked in CCC and charged with his fourth DWI and drug possession, according to Cindy Chadwick, spokeswoman for Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.
When Weldon's cellmate returned from court, that's when he found him unresponsive. The cellmate notified deputies.
According to Chadwick, Life-saving measures were initiated by CCC staff, 911 was contacted and SFD responded.
However, Weldon could not be revived and died on scene.
An investigation was launched by CPSO and is ongoing — but no suspicious circumstances have been noted.
The autopsy will be performed on Wednesday, according to the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office. Results, including the cause and manner of death, will not be available for four to six weeks.
