Job fairs slated this month

(KSLA) - Caddo Parish Public Schools is hosting a transportation job fair on Tuesday, July 17. The event will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the attendance office at 1638 Murphy Street. They will be hiring for full and part-time bus drivers and bus assistants. Interviews will be conducted on-site, so applicants are encouraged to dress appropriately and come prepared with resumes.

On July 19, a job fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Municipal Auditorium, 705 Elvis Presley Ave. in Shreveport.

Among participants will be:

Bossier School District is looking for part-time food technician substitutes for its child nutrition program for the 2018-19 academic year.

Also in Marshall:

The City of Texarkana, Texas, is advertising firefighter, police officer and laborer positions.

On the other side of the state line, Texarkana, Ark., School District has posted several openings in recent weeks.

Arkansas High: high school Mathlete sponsor (internal, stipend only) and computer science teacher
College Hill Middle: sixth-grade teacher, paraprofessional for intervention, paraprofessional for the library and office, two paraprofessionals for ISS. (That last position includes Union Elementary.)
Districtwide: two paraprofessionals for ISS, elementary school teacher and special education teacher
North Heights Junior High: social studies teacher for grades 7-8, drama teacher for grades 7-8, 2 paraprofessionals for reading and a junior high pep squad sponsor (stipend only).

Caddo Animal Services and Mosquito Control recently went so far as to put together a video to promote its employment opportunities:

In mid-June, Bossier Parish Libraries advertised for a librarian to serve as Central Library assistant branch manager and Adult Services librarian.

University Health is looking for medical technologists.

And the DeSoto Police Jury has a few positions.
