FULTON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

According to a post on the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Facebook page, the agency is asking anyone floating on the Spring River in Fulton County to avoid the Sadler Falls area after a fatal boating accident.

A sinkhole developed below the falls near Dead Man's Curve, officials say, noting the accident happened around noon on June 9.

The AGFC, along with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Fulton County, have built buoys and roped off the area where the whirlpool is located, officials said.

The river is still open, but officials ask people not to breach the barricaded area.

Engineers will be in the area this week to check on the situation.
