It began with homerun derby in which long snapper Zach Wood outlasted Drew Brees for the trophy.
"So much pressure, that was worse than a game, worse than the Minnesota game, I was like 'wow' I really had to focus but everything worked out and I'm not complaining at all," said Saints long snapper Zach Wood.
Then came the game and both the offense and defense started red hot and scored four runs a piece In he first inning. But then the offense got their bats rolling and kept rolling
When Dan Arnold connected with this bomb, the offense ran away with 29-17.
But for all the players tonight was all about taking a break from football to bond off the field for a good cause.
"Getting to know my teammates on a personal level, outside the team facility is important so obviously to be able to do that is a team building event. Also, to be able to give back to the community and people that have given so much to us with Team Gleason and Son of A Saint, two organizations that mean a lot to this city and two organizations that I've been lucky enough to be a part of and help out with so it's really important that we're able to give back to them as well," said Saints linebacker AJ Klein.
