For Saints linebacker Alex Anzalone, things came quick his rookie season. He quickly got on the field, quickly became a starter but then quickly saw his promising season come to an end in week four against Carolina with a shoulder injury..
"Getting hurt sucks but you know it just is what it is and just grind through it," Anzalone told reporters.
Shoulder issues plagued Anzalone throughout his collegiate career at Florida. But he's confident that those problems are a things of the past.
"I think that the training room and the rehab guys did a good job in getting me back stronger," Anzalone said.
He's now fully healthy and has no restrictions during OTA's. He's back to his familiar spot as first team weakside linebacker alongside newcomer Demario Davis.
" I feel really good; I'm happy," he explained "Just being out there after having it taken away from me practicing again feels really good."
"He’s smart, he's someone that has really good range, can play in all three downs," Sean Payton said. "He's someone we think is a good player on third down, so it gives you flexibility at linebacker. The key for him is just you know staying healthy. He is someone that picks things up very quickly though and I think that's a strength of his.”
