SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police arrested a man Tuesday accused of beating another man back in April and causing serious injuries.
On April 27 just before 9:30 a.m. police responded to University Health hospital on reports of an assault and battery.
Officers learned that 36-year-old man showed up at the emergency room with a severe head trauma that allegedly came from a battery the night before.
Investigators went to the hospital and interviewed the man, who reported that he and some friends were having a small get together at the Yorkshire Apartments in the 2000 block of Hearne Avenue and for reasons unknown to him the suspect, 36-year-old Curtshun Thomas, of the 2800 block of Murphy Street, allegedly hit him and knocked him unconscious.
The victim says he woke up the next morning in a ditch in the 300 block of Hearne Avenue and was able to find his way to help.
On April 30, detectives got a warrant for Thomas' arrest charging him with one count of second-degree battery.
The Shreveport Police Department's Warrant's Unit took Curtshun into custody on May 8 without incident and booked him into the Shreveport City Jail with a $20,000 bond.
