Warmer and drier than average conditions expected through mid-May

As rain chances begin to wind down to start the weekend, it may be a while before our next best chance of seeing wet weather.

We're back to dry weather on Sunday. A storm system passing north of the ArkLaTex may bring a few showers on Wednesday, but rain is expected to be isolated. More dry weather appears likely as we close out next week.

Beyond the 7 day forecast it may be toward the end of next weekend or the following week before we see a substantial chance of rain again. The forecast trend through mid-May is indicating the likelihood of drier than average conditions for the ArkLaTex and surrounding area.

A warm stretch of weather also appears likely through mid-month. Warmer than average conditions look likely across much of the country and we'll be right in the thick of it here in the ArkLaTex.

Forecast highs in the mid to upper 80s throughout next week are a few degrees above our average highs in the low 80s this time of year. There are signs that we could hit 90 for the first time this year by next weekend!
