HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The William Carey University Crusaders will be setting their alarm clocks for an early wake-up call when they arrive next week in Kansas City, Mo., for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ national basketball tournament.

The 10th-ranked Crusaders (25-5), who won the Southern States Athletic regular-season championship as well as the league’s postseason tournament, will face Life University at 9 a.m. Wednesday at historic Memorial Auditorium. The contest will be the first game of the tourney.

Carey, which has won 17 of its last 19 games and nine in a row, will be making its 12th appearance on the national stage. The Crusaders have  been seeded third in the Liston Bracket, while the Eagles (20-11) are seeded sixth.
