The dance was supposed to be a secret as are all of the competitive dances the team works on for nationals.
Someone in the audience posted the video and it started racking up views. Calaway was tagged in it and saw that nearly 7,000 people had watched it.
"It kinda blew up! So I was like forget it, go ahead and share away," said Calaway, "Just funny that this is spreading like it is."
Calaway says she was excited about the 7,000 views but can't believe the heights it's reached now. The originally posted video has received more than 2.5 million views as of Tuesday afternoon.
Calaway says the girls are very deserving of the attention. They practice every morning starting at 7 a.m. and even sometimes on weekends.
"They're here before everyone else," said Calaway.
She says she feels lucky to work with the Belles every day, "Super hard-working group. I feel honored to work with them."
Not only is the video gaining hits, the girls also got some recognition at the contest. They won for their division and the novelty dance got a special award for originality and creativity. In fact, it was the highest scoring novelty dance that day at the contest.
"They received a standing ovation when they performed," said Chelsey Hess, whose daughter is a Bobcat Belle, "The crowd was going crazy!"
The original Facebook post read, "YALL, this was seriously performed at my sister's dance competition today. The whole gymnasium was in tears laughing so hard ... hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did."
Hess shared the video saying, "I think they should be sponsored by Chick-fil-A for life."
Nationals will be held in Galveston on March 24 and 25. They'll perform 9 total dances at the competition including the novelty dance and they're hoping they'll bring the cows home. Best of luck to the Belles!
