Filmmaker Spike Lee is pumped about being Zulu Grand Marshall during the city’s 300th year.
Lee spoke to FOX 8 News as Zulu King Brent D. Washington, Sr., and his wife and Queen Troye Madison Washington arrived to much fanfare at Woldenberg Park on the New Orleans riverfront Monday afternoon for the annual Lundi Gras or Mardi Gras Eve celebration hosted by the Krewe of Zulu each year.
When asked about being a part of the Zulu parade during the city’s tri-centennial, Lee said, “ Then I’ll be three times better then, than I was the last time, 300 times better I would then the last time.
And Lee offered some advice to parade watchers who will not be able to get a word with him.
“Watch on television, drink a little bit, have a good time, have a good time, let it roll,” said Lee.
