Alvin Kamara, as if anyone had a doubt, is the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. That makes two big wins in two days after fans voted him Pepsi Rookie of the Year on Friday.
It should come as no surprise with Kamara’s impressive resume. He led all rookies this year with 81 receptions and totaled 1,554 yards from scrimmage with 14 total touchdowns. His most impressive number might even be overlooked. Kamara averaged 6.1 yards per carry, which was the most in the NFL by a wide margin. His 14 trips to the endzone were second only to Rams running back Todd Gurley.
Kamara was also one half of the first pro bowl running back duo since 1975 alongside Saints teammate Mark Ingram.
This latest honor joins a long list of others which include being selected second-team All-Pro and being named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
