In this edition of FFF: It's December and we're talking Saints playoffs, how does America catch up with Europe in cultivating young talent, and should people visit John Besh's restaurants.
The holiday season is here, and we're talking playoffs in the Crescent City. Hallelujah!!!
There's been a ton of losing on Airline Drive in the last three years. It's refreshing to see playoff scenarios that involve the Black and Gold. Saints win Sunday, they're in the playoffs. Saints win and Panthers lose on Sunday, New Orleans clinches the NFC South.
The Black and Gold offense is in some rarefied air, 14 games into the regular season. The Saints are the only team in the NFL to have 3 players with 1,000+ scrimmage yards each this season.
Mark Ingram racked up 1,420 total yards so far. Rookie running back Alvin Kamara is right behind him with 1,336 yards. Michael Thomas joined the duo this Sunday, and now stands at 1,085 yards from scrimmage. All three scored a touchdown against the Jets.
Kamara has only lived in NOLA since late July, but is no doubt enjoying life with a winning team in the community.
"I would definitely say it's different. Definitely different when you have a winning team. It's a lot of love. They love the Saints. I'm just out here, a small piece of it. I'm glad they're embracing me, allowing me to be here," said Kamara.
U.S.A. National Team and Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic penned a fantastic story recently on the reasoning for young talent in our country going abroad.
Instead of staying in the States and playing in Major League Soccer or going to college, more talent should head to Europe once they hit 18-years old. The talent and competition is much greater in Europe. Staying here can only help your game so much. Challenging yourself, and thinking out of the box could make the U.S. team better in the future.
Hey, it worked for Pulisic, why not again, and soon.
In a recent FFF post I focused on Shaya's reservations not falling off after the John Besh scandal. It's still extremely tough to get a reservation at night, even after Besh ran Alon Shaya off. The food is still fantastic, even if Besh no longer has nothing to do with the menu.
Recently, I've talked to people staying away from Besh restaurants in the future. Going to other spots, and avoiding anything associated with Besh.
I say that's a bad idea. There's 1,200 workers under the Besh restaurant umbrella. They need to pay bills just like you and me. Go to Besh restaurants for their sake.
