The Black and Gold offense is in some rarefied air, 14 games into the regular season. The Saints are the only team in the NFL to have 3 players with 1,000+ scrimmage yards each this season.
Mark Ingram racked up 1,420 total yards so far. Rookie running back Alvin Kamara is right behind him with 1,336 yards. Michael Thomas joined the duo this Sunday, and now stands at 1,085 yards from scrimmage. All three scored a touchdown against the Jets.
"You know it's an interesting stat. I don't know if you ever go in with the idea you're going to have that balance with the runners, and the way Mike (Thomas) is playing. Look those have all been playmakers for us," said Saints Head Coach Sean Payton. "Those guys have been consistent. They've done a very good job. I wouldn't have a reference if that's happen before. For instance, here in any given season. I imagine there have been years where we've had runners, and maybe Jimmy Graham and a receiver. But with the length of our season, sometimes you get lost in some of those numbers."
