Prognosticators decreed gloom-and-doom for the Saints after an 0-2 start to the season. Seven games later, the Black and Gold sit atop the NFC South after another dominating win, this time over the Buffalo Bills.
The Saints 47-10 victory is the largest on the road since 1987. That crew was the first to make the playoffs in franchise history.
The offensive unit set a franchise record with six rushing touchdowns, and the defense came up big once again with a key turnover by Sheldon Rankins.
"Did I think we were going to rattle off seven in a row, I'm not sure," said quarterback Drew Brees. "I knew we were much closer than people gave us credit for. I knew the tide would turn at some point, and we hoped it would be sooner than later. You just need a little validation for the process."
