LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

A vehicle crashed into a home near the intersection of Cline and Malcolm streets around midday Friday.

"I couldn't believe it," said Zenobia Jones the homeowner. "It had never happened before. My grandkids play out here so I would never have expected that."

It's the third similar incident this week.

A car crashed into a bedroom of a home.

"She tore it up, it's torn up in there," she said. "She [driver] moved my living room wall."

No one was home, although the driver of the vehicle has been transported to an area hospital, said Capt. Brian Kirkwood, with the Lake Charles Fire Department.

"We didn't see any major injuries, she wasn't very coherent but we placed her in the care of the Acadian Ambulance and they took her to a local hospital," he said.

The woman was in the car when firefighters arrived. Officials on the scene believe she was possibly experiencing a seizure before the crash.

A truck crashed into a home in Westlake on Wednesday. Then, on Thursday, a car drove into the Market Basket at the intersection of Country Club and Lake Street.

"Maybe just the increased presence of people now with all the work going on or maybe just people not paying attention," Kirkwood said. "Be very aware, defense driving is taught when you get your license. Be aware of your surroundings and just be more careful."

If you would like to help the family you can make a donation at Captial One Bank on Lakeshore Drive in the name of Zenobia Jones.
