(RNN) - "It's-a me, Mario!" Target is in full-on gaming mode for Nintendo's favorite plumber.

Shopping carts at 650 locations have been turned into "Super Target Karts," decorated with Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach. Bollards (the big red balls out front) have been transformed into Mario and Luigi heads.

The new look comes in preparation for the latest release from the popular franchise, Mario Kart 8 for Nintendo Switch. And while there aren't any coins to collect on the aisles, at least you won't have Bowser trying to bump you off-course.

In addition, the front doors have been turned into the starting line from Mario Kart, complete with flashing lights and the Mario theme.

Target said in a statement that it's the first time the company has decorated its carts. It previously has given the bollards a makeover, with Pokemon balls in 2016 and beach balls for a summer campaign in 2011.

Mario Kart 8 for the Switch is set for release April 28 and available for pre-order. Target stated people still searching for a Switch should keep checking stores, as the company tries to get more shipments and keep the console stocked.
