DESOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A benefit account has been set up for the DeSoto Parish sheriff’s deputy killed in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday, authorities say.

Authorities say 48-year-old Christopher Sharpley was driving his motorcycle when he collided with a 2013 Dodge Challenger.

It happened just before 7 a.m on Highway 171 at Rives Road, north of Mansfield.

DeSoto Parish sheriff's deputies say the account in his honor has been set up at Citizens Bank.

Anyone who wishes to make a donation can do so under the name Stephanie Sharpley, Christopher’s widow.

Deputies say all donations will go directly to the deputy’s family.
