Caddo adds dozens of charges against GA rape, robbery suspect

CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A Georgia rape and kidnapping suspect who also is a person of interest in a slaying there now also is suspected of writing bogus checks in Caddo Parish.

Caddo Parish investigators think 30-year-old Alfredo Luciano Capote, of Oil City, wrote dozens of fake checks in the names of local companies.

Capote remains in Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked Tuesday afternoon after being arrested at an apartment complex in the 100 block of North Dickey Street in Oil City.

He was booked on two counts each of forgery and access device fraud.

As a result of the counterfeit checks, Capote now also faces 33 counts of monetary instrument abuse.

And he is being held as both an in-state fugitive and as an out-of-state fugitive.

Capote is wanted in Atlanta, Ga., where is he accused of raping, robbing and kidnapping his girlfriend.

He also is a person of interest in her slaying.
