DeSoto Parish coroner ID's man killed in explosion

DESOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

The DeSoto Parish Coroner's Office has released the name of the person killed in Tuesday's well site explosion.

Camron Anthony Hernandez of Diana, Texas was killed and two others were injured.

It happened at 11:46 a.m. Tuesday on Walker Road about a mile southwest of U.S. Highway 171 south of Mansfield. The tank exploded as a crew was cleaning up recent storm damage at the site operated by Aethon Energy, the DeSoto Sheriff's Office reported.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene, and one person was flown to a hospital by Life Air for moderate injuries. The third, who had minor injuries, was taken by ambulance to a Mansfield medical facility.

DeSoto Sheriff's Office spokesperson Blake Woodward said that they believe that no hazardous materials were released during the incident. No homes or commercial structures were in danger during the explosion.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
