LINCOLN PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A teen who recently moved from New Orleans to Lincoln Parish is accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend.

Killed was 47-year-old Melvin Peterson.

Lincoln sheriff's deputies found him on the ground near U.S. Highway 167 at Nell Street in Dubach about midnight Sunday, according to a report by KNOE, the CBS affiliate in Monroe.

He was taken to North Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities booked 17-year-old Ronnie Francis into Lincoln Parish Detention Center on a manslaughter charge at 9:05 a.m. Monday.

She initially identified herself as 19-year-old Malayasia Michelle Carter, of New Orleans.

The sheriff's office says investigators later determined that to be a false identity and that Francis has been living in the Dubach area for about three months, according to the KNOE report.
