CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

The president of a Caddo Parish parent-teacher-student association has been arrested for stealing money from the group, authorities say.

According to Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator, 47-year-old Vera Dunfey of Shreveport was arrested for reportedly stealing $4,230 in association money as seen in her personal bank records.

Dunfey was the president of the Herndon Magnet Parent-Teacher-Student Association.

In August 2016, an auditor with the Caddo Parish School Board filed a theft report with the Caddo Sheriff’s Office after a periodic audit revealed missing money from the school’s PTSA for the 2015-2016 school year, police say.

Dunfey was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for theft.
