TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

Texarkana, Texas, police say they have arrested the man they think is responsible for a shooting that sent a teenager to the hospital.

Authorities say Devonta Henderson, 25, of Texarkana, Texas was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he turned himself into officers over the weekend.

Henderson reportedly called 911 Saturday afternoon to say that he was at Town North Apartments in the 4600 block of Elizabeth Street and wanted to turn himself in.

Officers say they then met him near the apartment complex entrance, where he was taken into custody without incident.

The shooting happened April 10 in the 2000 block of West 17th street.

The victim was a 14-year-old male, who suffered a single gunshot wound to his left leg.

At last report, he was listed in fair but stable condition.

Witnesses identified Henderson as the person who shot the victim before fleeing the scene on foot, police say.

Henderson is being held in the Bi-State Jail with a bond of $100,000.
