SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The Caddo Coroner’s office has released the name of the victim killed following a wreck in west Shreveport on Saturday.

Through fingerprints, authorities were able to identify the man as 35-year-old Rachid Aboumajouba of Shreveport.

The accident happened just before 7:30 p.m. in the 5700 block of Buncombe Road, between Birchwood Street and Shrevepark Drive.

According to Shreveport police, Aboumajouba was traveling northbound on Buncombe Road when another vehicle collided with his head-on.

The driver of the other vehicle was moving erratically at high speed and passed several cars before running into Aboumajouba, police say.

Aboumajouba was killed instantly, but his pregnant wife, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to University Health hospital for treatment.

Her condition has not been released.
