SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The Caddo coroner's office says a man's body was recovered from Cross Lake before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

It is not yet known whether the body is that of a man who went missing Saturday after saving two children, coroner's office spokesman John Prime said.

"Fingerprints were taken, and the Caddo Parish coroner's office is awaiting results for identification."

An autopsy is pending.

Shreveport police Cpl. Marcus Hines said he received an update about midday Wednesday indicating that the missing man's body had been recovered from the lake.

And a woman identifying herself as one of the man's relatives said via Facebook that his body has been recovered.

The coroner's office spokesman said recovery efforts were being led by Shreveport Fire Department.

Fire Department dispatchers and Chief Skip Pinkston said they have not been notified of Fire Department personnel being involved in the recovery of a body Wednesday from Cross Lake.
