LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

A fourth arrest has been made in conjunction with the April 6 shooting on Tulip Street that claimed the life of 22-year-old Cody Lastrapes, according to Lake Charles Police Department Spokesman Lt. Richard Harrell.

Andre Jordan Broussard, 25, of Lake Charles, was arrested on April 11.

Lastrapes was in a car with three other people in the early morning hours of April 6, when another group began firing upon the car, believing that Deon Tobias Demorulle was an occupant. Lastrapes was killed and three others shot.

Demorulle was not in the car, but was in the neighborhood and came out and exchanged gunfire.

Jkristopher Demond Scott, Demoruelle and a 16-year-old juvenile have also been arrested.

LCPD has not said what Broussard's involvement was in the incident. He is charged with one count of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder. His bond is set at $900,000.

At a news conference on Tuesday, Lake Charles Police Chief Don Dixon said at least 79 shots had been fired.

"This is not Baghdad, this is Lake Charles," Dixon said.

Dixon said the incident began on Rose Street.

When police arrived at the scene, Lastrapes was found dead on the side of the car. The three other victims suffered serious wounds and were transported to local hospitals, authorities said.
