SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport Police Chief Alan Crump has fired an officer suspected of helping a homicide suspect.

LaShell Linsha Crawford, 26, was terminated for violating departmental policies, the Police Department reports.

Crawford is charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.

Investigators say she knew the alleged shooter in a homicide case and had been secretly texting him, including providing him with information to evade arrest, an affidavit shows.

Crawford is accused of helping Jacorey Wilson escape capture after he allegedly fatally shot 25-year-old Rolandreon Marquis Fischer the morning of Jan. 29 outside County Market in the 6300 block of Hearne Avenue.

Three other people were wounded in that shooting.

Crawford's dismissal is one of two the Police Department announced Wednesday as a result of predisciplinary conferences held Tuesday.

Also fired for violating departmental policies was Darrielle Stephens, who was hired by the department in August 2009.

Crawford was hired by the department in July 2016.
