Heavy rain drenches parts of the ArkLaTex Monday night

Significant rain fell in association with storms that tracked through the ArkLaTex late Monday afternoon and into the overnight hours. Rain amounts ranging from three to more than eight inches covered a large area across southwest Arkansas and northeast Texas.

So much rain fell around De Queen Arkansas that some residents had to be rescued from their flooded homes. The heavy rain may have caused some localized flooding, but it will make a dent in the ongoing drought conditions.
