A $5 debt and a ricocheting bullet are what landed a teenager in a hospital in fair condition.
The 14-year-old was shot as he and several others were playing basketball Monday evening in the 2000 block of West 17th Street in Texarkana, Texas, authorities said.
A man walked up and began arguing with someone who owed him $5. He out a pistol and fired it toward the ground.
The bullet ricocheted and struck the teen in one of his legs, police said.
Now authorities are looking to arrest 25-year-old Devonta "Vonte" Henderson on a charge of aggravated assault.
Henderson stands 5’5” tall, weighs about 125 pounds and has tattoos on his face and both of his forearms.
The wounded teen is expected to make a full recovery, police said.
Authorities urge anyone with any information about Henderson or the shooting to call Texarkana, Texas, police at (903) 798-3876.
