An entertainment venue in Texarkana, TX is being kept open with a new look.
The Texarkana Chamber of Commerce cut the ribbon to open Bright Stars Theaters Friday afternoon. The theater replaces the Oaklawn Opera which closed last month after first opening its doors 25 years ago.
Owners of the Oaklawn Opera bought another facility and opened Bright Star Theaters. They say they plan to keep the tradition going with more services to the area.
“It’s a music slash entertainment venue. We are not only going to have music, we are going to have comedy shows,” says Co-Owner Charlie Evans.
The location was originally designed to be a movie theater, but Evans says they hope to feature movies at Bright Stars Theater.
The first show played Saturday at 7 p.m.
