Deputies release names of victim, suspects in deadly Coushatta shooting

COUSHATTA, LA (KSLA) - The Red River Parish Sheriff's office has released the names of the victim and the 2 suspects arrested in a deadly shooting in Coushatta Thursday.

According to the Red River Parish Sheriff's Office, officers were called to a home on Riddle Street in Red River Estates at 4:37 p.m., where a man had been shot multiple times.

The victim was identified as Earl Moore of Coushatta. Moore was taken to Christus Coushatta hospital in a personal vehicle where he later died from his injuries.

During the course of the investigation, the alleged shooter and an accomplice were arrested and booked into the Red River Parish Jail.

Deputies believe the shooter was 34-year-old Daniel M. Waites of Ringgold. He was charged with one count of second-degree murder.

Carrel M. Waites, 60, also of Ringgold was charged with one count of principal to second-degree murder.

Bond has not been set at this time for either suspect and both of them remain in the Red River Parish Jail.

Deputies believe the shooting may have stemmed from an earlier incident between the individuals in the early morning hours of March 29.
