Three arrested in Broussard with $20K worth of drugs and guns

ST. MARY PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

Three people were arrested in St. Martin Parish Monday on numerous drug and weapon charges.

Many agencies cooperated in the investigation in reference to suspected illegal drug activity. Early in the morning on Tuesday, March 14, the investigation led agents to the 1000 block of Petroleum Pkwy. in Broussard, where they recovered significant amounts of illegal drugs, with a street value of approximately $20,000, says the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office.

The following individuals were arrested and charged:

  • Brook Boudreaux, 44, of Breaux Bridge:
    • Possession with then intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine), schedule III controlled dangerous substance (Hydrocodone), and schedule IV controlled dangerous substance (alprazolam)
    • Possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substance (crack cocaine base)
    • Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses
    • Possession of marijuana
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Yancy Sonnier, 51, of Branch:
    • Possession with the intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine)
    • Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Brooke Leblanc, 22, of Youngsville:
    • Possession with intent to distribute schedule I controlled dangerous substance (marijuana), schedule II controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine), schedule III controlled dangerous substance (Hydrocodone), and schedule IV controlled dangerous substance (alprazolam)
    • Possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substance (crack cocaine base)
    • Obstruction of justice
    • Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses
    • Possession of marijuana
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Materials and supplies used to package the illegal drugs were also recovered, St. Martin Parish officials say. All three suspects were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
