The General Motors plant in Shreveport will receive a state award for it's huge impact on the Louisiana economy.
According to GM spokeswoman Donna McLallan, the company accounts for almost 4 1/2 percent of the state's gross domestic product.
GM will receive what's called the "Lantern Award" Tuesday at the governor's mansion in Baton Rouge.
The news comes just as GM announced they'll be making trucks for automaker Isuzu, based on the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon.
An Isuzu spokesman says any differences between the trucks will be cosmetic only.
GM is expected to produce between 5,000 to 10,000 of trucks. They'll be called the i280 and i350.
