Tampa, FL (WBRC) -

Two days before the Crimson Tide faces Clemson in the national championship football game, new Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian was the main attraction at media day in Tampa.

Sarkisian, who has taken over for the departed Lane Kiffin, will call the plays for the Crimson Tide for the first time on Monday night.

"I'm not going to call plays like Lane would have wanted but rather how I want. We will have a good rhythm, a good feel in the game, but we will have to make that on our own through execution and game planning," said Sarkisian.

Will the new offensive coordinator draw confidence from the Bama players on Monday night?

"I feel confident in whoever calls the plays, I mean they're not playing, we are," Tailback Bo Scarbrough said.

"This wasn't our decision. Coach Saban made the decision about what was right for the program. They thought it was tough for Kiffin to juggle two jobs so they went with Sark and we're just here to make him feel more comfortable as our coordinator. He's done a good job with coaching us up and showing us that he's the man," tailback Damien Harris added.

What did Nick Saban say about the change?

"He's done a great job all season long," Saban said. "Helping in some of the planning of the offense, so I think it all worked out well."

"I'm cool with everything they have going here. The coaches are going to put me in the best position succeed, so I'm good with it," quarterback Jalen Hurts added.

While the championship game will be the first time Sarkisian calls plays for the Crimson Tide, the Bama players said that they won't see too much of a change from the previous OC.

Asked if Sark will order up more running plays in the title game, Harris said, "You will just have to find out Monday night."
