Complications from a medical condition appear to be what caused the death of a woman whose body was found Tuesday evening in Mansfield.
That's what is indicated by evidence collected thus far in the investigation into the death of Laporsha Pitts, Police Chief Gary Hobbs said.
The discovery of the 27-year-old's body was made about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in a residence in the Mansfield Housing Authority complex.
She was found in the living room of the residence in the 500 block of Kennedy Street, the police chief said.
Her body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The police chief said Tuesday that investigators had found no sign of foul play.
The investigation is being conducted by Mansfield police detectives with the help of DeSoto sheriff’s detectives.
