The Louisiana Workforce Commission is holding Diversity Works job fairs in Bossier City, Baton Rouge and New Orleans in October as part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
Employers can register to participate by sending email to Georgette Wallace at GWallace1@lwc.la.gov. There is no fee.
Baton Rouge: Oct. 26 at 7401 Cortana Place (Entrance 4) in Baton Rouge.
Bossier City: Oct. 31 at Bossier Parish Community College, Emmett E. Cope Student Services Building F, 6220 E. Texas St.
New Orleans: Oct. 25 at the University of New Orleans Training, Resource and Assistive-Technology Center, 2000 Lakeshore Drive in New Orleans.
Each job fair will be open from 9 to 10 a.m. for veterans only and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the general public.
The events are coordinated by the commission's Office of Workforce Development programs, including its Disability Ticket to Work and veterans programs and Louisiana Rehabilitation Services.
National Disability Employment Awareness Month aims to educate people about disability employment issues and to celebrate contributions made by U.S. workers with disabilities. The observation is led by the U.S. Labor Department's Office of Disability Employment Policy.
