SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Caddo Parish deputies and Shreveport firefighters recovered a body from Cross Lake Friday morning.

The body was just after 12 p.m. in Cross Lake near a house in the 5200 block of Norfolk Rd.

No identity has been released at this time, but deputies say the person is a relative of whoever lives at the house. Investigators say it is an apparent suicide.

The initial call was for a missing person and crews began searching shortly before 9:30 a.m.

Bobby Herring with the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office said they had crews searching the area and the city of Shreveport had boats on Cross Lake.

Shreveport firefighters and Caddo Parish Sheriff's deputies were seen outside a gated home in the 5200 block of Norfolk Rd., near where search crews were accessing the lake.
