COUSHATTA, LA (KSLA) -

A Coushatta man is back in Red River Parish to face a charge that he head butted a sheriff's deputy nearly 3 months ago.

Brandon J. Streetman, 33, of the 300 block of Salt Springs Church Road, is being held in Red River Parish Jail on 1 count of battery of a police officer.

A Louisiana State Police trooper arrested him July 23 on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court in DeSoto Parish.

Two days later, a DeSoto sheriff's deputy came to pick up Streetman at the Red River Parish Jail in Coushatta.

While being escorted to the deputy's vehicle, Streetman reportedly pulled away and got into a struggle with the deputy.

He also head butted the deputy and tried to kick the law officer, the Red River sheriff's office reports.

Two Red River sheriff's deputies helped subdue Streetman, who then was placed in the DeSoto deputy's vehicle and taken to the DeSoto Parish Detention Center for booking on the warrant.

The Red River sheriff's office got a warrant Aug. 2 to arrest Streetman on a charge of battery of a police officer once he was released from the DeSoto lockup.

A Red River sheriff's deputy picked up Streetman in DeSoto on Oct. 4 and brought him back to the parish jail, where he remains. His bond has been set at $5,000.
